State-Based Scholarships

California


Health Career Scholarship: Scholarships are offered to students pursuing health related fields. This includes graduating high school seniors, community colleges, vocational/ trade schools, undergraduate, students pursuing a Master in Public Health (MPH) and students in Medical and/or Dentistry schools. Scholarship money is generously provided by The California Wellness Foundation.

High school Student Scholarship: Graduating High school seniors are eligible to apply for SALEF Scholarship regardless of their field of study and the educational institution they decide to attend after high school. Scholarship money is generously provided by the College Access Foundation of California (CAFC)

General Field Scholarship: SALEF scholarship is open to students regardless of their field of study. Students could either be enrolled in a 2 year institution, 4 year institution, or graduate school.

The Family Scholarship Program is intended to help two members of the same family move up the economic development ladder through education. Scholarships may be used for tuition for college/university education language acquisition classes, technical/skill training, and/or financial literacy. For example, one family member may request assistance to attend college and the other family member may request assistance to attend English as a Second Language (ESL) course.


Colorado

Scholarships may be used for tuition for college/university education language acquisition classes, technical/skill training, and/or financial literacy. Illinois


The purpose of this scholarship is to serve as a memorial to Aurelio “Larry” Jazo, a long time migrant educator, by offering an annual award in the amount of $500 for post-secondary scholarship assistance to a migrant farmworker student who has a recent migration to Illinois.

Scholarships may be used for tuition for college/university education language acquisition classes, technical/skill training, and/or financial literacy. For example, one family member may request assistance to attend college and the other family member may request assistance to attend English as a Second Language (ESL) course.



Minnesota


Apply to be a Page Education Scholar to receive a monetary scholarship for post-educational studies and be a role-model to youth through the Service-to-Children Project.



New York


The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize the educational achievement of migrant farmworker students with a history of migration to and/or within New York State. This award of $500 will be offered annually to an individual student or the amount will be divided among two or more students.

The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize a migrant farmworker senior high school student from New York State needing post-secondary scholarship assistance who has demonstrated a caring and giving attitude toward another individual or community with a $500 scholarship.
